Allow Me To Introduce Myself . . .

Hi, I’m Jane!

I am, first and foremost, a Christian. I am a wife to my husband Zach, and I am also a momma to three babies under the age of two–Tom (almost 2 years old) and twins Mary and Emma (4 months).

Needless to say, I am busy. Ha!

I’m in a crazy season, and most of my days fly by in a blur of breastfeeding, changing, comforting, making snacks, changing (it bears repeating), entertaining, fixing meals (sometimes), and correcting over and over (and over and over) again.

This is survival mode, and it’s crazy, but also strangely invigorating. Those little smiles make it all worth it, don’t they? I truly love being a mom and wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Since I’m so busy–in survival mode even–you might wonder why I’m adding blogging to my plate.

Part of it is simply because I would like a creative outlet, and I enjoy writing, but it’s more than just that . . .

Praiseful Nest is a place for me to record my memories and thoughts during this precious and fleeting season. I hope it will also be a place for me to eventually move out of survival mode and begin to nurture the other areas of my life, like my faith, health, marriage, the home, self-care, joy and thankfulness and prayer, etc.

I also hope it will be a tool to remind me to praise the Lord who is the foundation of my whole life and who needs to come first. In these cray-cray seasons, I have to remind myself of that. 🙂

Finally, I hope to also make friends and develop a community. Motherhood can be lonely, but it doesn’t have to be.

Some topics that you’ll find on Praiseful Nest:

  • My twin pregnancy and birth–my memories and experiences from my twin pregnancy and delivery, and my experiences raising infant twins.
  • Life with baby twins and a toddler–personal experiences, memories, simple snapshots of our lives, and some tips and tricks (if I develop any good ones . . . Ha.)
  • My journey to a healthier lifestyle–I’m trying to clean up my diet (slowly but surely) as well as get back in shape after my twin pregnancy. There may be recipes (I love to cook healthy meals, but I’ve fallen waaay off the wagon since the twins were born.) I may also share some tidbits about my experience with Rheumatoid Arthritis, which I’ve had for 9 years.
  • Homemaking–Honestly, right now, my husband does more of the homemaking, because I’m breastfeeding twins, and it is all consuming. But I’m gonna put it down anyways, because eventually I’m sure I’ll be able to manage the house again. Key word being eventually.
  • Who knows what else! There may be some random topics from time to time.

Honestly, this whole thing is just an experiment. Who knows if I’ll really have time to write about any of these things, but by the grace of God, I’m going to try!
